Some companies promise great quality, low prices and fast turnaround, but can you really have it all? Experience tells us otherwise.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

- Benjamin Franklin

Think about that.

You relish the money you saved in the moment of purchase; however, you have to live with that poor quality sign (pair of shoes, laptop, etc.) for months or years to come.

Here’s what John Barton, English 19th century writer and intellectual, had to say:

It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money — that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.”

I’d imagine those words ring truer today than the day he wrote them. Think of all the cheap, poor-quality products on the market!

Barton goes on to say…

“The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot — it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Notice that neither of these two mention turnaround time?

A century or two ago, next-day delivery wasn’t really an option if you were producing anything of substance. Even a few decades ago, a sign was not made in a day. Times have changed. Speed is often of the essence.

What will you get when you come to Signs In The Making?

As they say, when it comes to the tricky triangle of customer service, out of good quality, fast turnaround, low price, you can choose just two. You can have cheap and fast, but it won’t be good. You can have good and fast, but it will be expensive.

We know our customers want quality work and that they often want it quickly, so these are the two sides of the triangle the we focus on, in that order. In our pricing, we try to reflect value for your dollar. We aren’t the cheapest, but neither are we the most expensive.

So, what will you get when you come to Signs in the Making? A good product in a reasonable amount of time for a fair price with top-notch, personalized customer service.

If you are a current customer and we haven’t fulfilled one of these goals, we’d like to hear from you.
